Easybus to begin London to Stansted Service

Thursday 22 March 2007 12:36 AM
From 7th June 2007, Easyjet will start operating a low-cost shuttle service between central London and Stansted Airport.

The service is called Easybus and is part of Stelio Haji-Ioannou's EasyGroup. EasyBus already operates over 40 services each day in each direction between central London and Luton Airport.

The new service will also depart 40 times per day in each direction from central London to Stansted Airport.

Tickets are very cheap and start at only £2 for those who book in advance and book online.

Journey times from Central London to Stansted will be approximately 90 minutes - compared to just 60 minutes to Luton Airport.

With above-inflation recent increases in railway ticket prices, the demand for this new service is expected to be high with people wanting to save on the cost of getting to the airport.

Steve Mills, Stansted Airport's public transport manager said: "Around 40 per cent of passengers use public transport to get to and from Stansted, which is the highest figure for any airport in the UK".
