The books are set in Scandinavia and have captivated readers all over the world in many different languages, focusing many people on the previously overlooked Sweden as a possible vacation destination. Thanks to the first part of the book 'The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo' being turned into a recent film, there is an expected increase in the amount of visitors to that region, which is thought to last for many years.
