Ryanair launches text service for flight status

Saturday 21 June 2008 7:58 AM

FlightTracker is a new service for passengers flying to Ryanair to receive SMS text updates on the status of their flight - with regular updates of any problems or issues.

Passengers can subscribe by sending a text at a cost of £1.50 (approximately 2.00 Euros) and will be sent several texts with departure/arrival times and any important notifications such as delayed flight.

To subscribe to the service, passengers should text "FR + FlightNumber" to 85122 from their mobile in the UK, or "FR + FlightNumber" to 57252 from their mobile in Ireland.

In a recent survey by FlyingAbroad, one of people's biggest gripes about travelling was not being kept informed of delays of their flight.
