Monday 16 June 2008 11:13 PM

Several of the bigger/traditional airlines have recently announced increases in fuel surcharges and Air Berlin have also increases its fuel charges from all flights booked after 16th June.

Flights between European cities will have a surcharge increased from 22 Euros to 25 Euros for each part of the flight.

Medium haul routes will have the surcharge increased from 32 Euro to 35 Euros, and a 40 Euros to 45 Euros increase on popular tourist destinations such as Egypt and the Canary Islands.

Long haul flights will see the surcharge increase from 85 Euros to 95 Euros.

Air Berlin's last fuel surcharge increase was on the 16th May and the new increase is as a direct result of the steep increase in the price of oil.

Ryanair, one of Europes biggest cheap flight airlines has recently announced that they will never impose any fuel surcharges on their flights.
