Flybe plagued by staff problems after taking over BA Connect

Tuesday 12 June 2007 12:58 AM
Earlier in 2007, Flybe took over BA Connect - one of its rivals. The takeover gave Flybe a foot in more markets than it had previously and gave it a couple of steps forward on its growth plans.

However, Flybe has admitted that since the take-over they have had some serious staffing problems which have resulted in numerous delays and cancellations on its services.

Flights have to have a minimum number of staff to operate and at times the insufficient numbers of crew to operate flights have resulted in literally thousands of passengers having disrupted journeys.

The airline has said that it is looking to improve the service and is taking the appropriate measures to improve the staffing problems.
