Friday 11 January 2008 11:59 AM
Spanish based Vueling has announced that from 31st March 2008, the airline will commence flights from Barajas Airport in Madrid, Spain to Malta - bring the number of countries served by the budget carrier to 16.

The three times a week service is expected to be popular and Vueling's spokesman, Juan Carlos Iglesias said [quote] "We’ve bet upon expanding the routes we operate from Madrid to destinations like Malta, which is especially attractive to tourists. Malta has become one of the most popular tourist destinations of the holiday season, thanks to its Mediterranean Sea enclave. Vueling will be the first company to operate regular flights between the capital of Spain and the capital of Malta the whole year round at extremely competitive prices. We hope people will flock to the route as much as they have to those to Nice, Naples and Athens."

Vueling have also announced a seat sale with 3 million seats reduced in price for the summer 2008 schedule - starting on 30th March 2008 - covering over 16,000 flights over the summer period.

Vueling has four bases throughout Europe including Madrid, Barcelona, Paris and Seville and carries over 12 million passengers a year.
