Silverjet passengers can take two items of hand luggage on board

Friday 18 January 2008 8:09 AM
As from mid-January, passengers travelling on Silverjet, the business class only airline, can now take two items of hand luggage on board.

The rules up to now was that only one item of hand luggage could be carried, but the two items rule applies to both Silverjet's London Luton to New York and Dubai services.

Many business travellers only take two items of luggage with them, and the increased allowance allows them to take both items on board rather than put one in the hold.

The exact rules on the two items are as follows:

1. The two pieces of cabin baggage should not exceed the following dimensions: a maximum length of 56cm, width of 45cm and depth of 25cm (including wheels, handles, side pockets etc.).

2. Any customer checking baggage in excess of two pieces will be charged an excess baggage fee currently at the rate of 60 GBP / 100 USD / 450 AED.

3. For health and safety reasons Silverjet does not accept for carriage any individual item exceeding 32 kilos or with combined dimensions of more than 158cm/62 inches.

Silverjet is a business class only airline providing daily flights from London Luton to Dubai and London Luton to Newark, New York, United States.
