Second Airbus A380 superjumbo delivered to Singapore Airlines

Asia based Singapore Airlines have taken delivery of their second Airbus A380 superjumbo.

The first ever delivered A380 is currently being flown from Singapore to Sydney where its been flying since 28th October 2007 and flying over 15 hours a day with 0% technical problems.

The new second A380 is fitted to the same luxurious standard as the first A380 with 471 seats spread over three classes.

Interesting facts:

- per 100 kilometres, an A380 burns less than 3 litres of fuel per passenger

- on take-off the A380 produces 50% less noise than other large commercial aircraft

- the A380 can seat up to 525 passengers if the plane is entirely economy class allows extra passenger capacity without increasing the number of flights.

- per seat cost are 20% lower than other planes

- The A380 can fly over 1000 miles further than its nearest rival
