London City to Berlin twice a day

Lufthansa has started twice-a-day flights between London City and Berlin-Tegel Airport in Germany.

A spokesman from Lufthansa said [quote] "Both business and the leisure travellers will now have a speedy city-to-city connection to either take advantage of Berlin's growing function as an exhibition hotspot or to just discover its cultural attractiveness."

The new route brings the total of 5 German cities that can be flown to direct from London City Airport.

The airport had a record year in 2007 with more than 2.9 million passengers flying in or out of the hub.
