Glasgow Airport to receive millions in investment from BAA

Sunday 27 January 2008 9:36 AM
BAA, owner of Glasgow Airport is to invest over £25 million in the airport this year - an increase of 50% compared to 2007.

The investment is expected to be in several key areas including additional seating, new flooring and better lighting. Investment will also be made in an area that has come under great criticism in BAA's other airports - an investment in airport security.

A large proportion of the investment will go into the development of the skyhub which is a single departure point for all passengers.

The skyhub is due to open in Autumn 2008 and will transform the experiences of passengers using the airport. The state of the art security screening, wider choice of shops and investment will ensure that passengers have the fastest, safest and more enjoyable experience.
