British Airways announce five flights a week to Hyderabad in India

Indian city Hyderabad is to have a new five times a week service from London Heathrow Airport starting in October 2008.

Strong demand for routes to other cities in India other that the existing Delhi, Calcutta, Mumbai/Bombay, Bangalore and Chennai routes have opened up this cultural meeting point.

The city which is famous for its festival celebrating Hindu God Ganesh is a cultural meeting point between north and south India.

Robert Boyle from British Airways said [quote] "Hyderabad has a fast growing economy based on IT, business process outsourcing and biotech industries and we believe that there will be a strong business demand for our flights, which will be the only direct services between the city and the UK".
