Oman Air leaves to Heathrow Airport

Wednesday 4 February 2009 7:31 AM

Oman Air has completed the move for its flights from Oman’s capital Muscat and the UK from Gatwick Airport to Heathrow Airport last week.

The airline began operating services from Muscat to Gatwick in late 2007, but had wanted to move its operations to Heathrow instead, on the basis that this is the preferred airport destination for Middle Eastern passengers.

Oman Air purchased of a pair of daily slots at Heathrow, which has resulted in more attractive flight times for its passengers.

The Heathrow to Muscat route will operate daily from Heathrow’s Terminal 3.

To start with, the daily direct flights will be operated by leased Airbus A310 aircraft. However new Airbus A330s will take over from April.

Oman Air is currently the only airline to offer a daily non-stop service from London to Muscat.
