British budget airline bmibaby has announced a new flight service from Cardiff Airport to Spain.

The popular holiday destination of Almeria is the new destination for bmibaby’s summer flight schedule. Flights will commence on May 22nd and will run until October 22nd.

Bmibaby’s managing director Crawford Rix said that the airline was proud to introduce the new route from Cardiff Airport.

Mr Rix went on to say that bmibaby recognise that the South of Spain is an exceptionally popular region with UK holidaymakers and decided to introduce the new route in order to offer more choice for its customers.

Mr Rix added: "Almeria is currently not served by any other low cost airline from Cardiff, so we are pleased we can offer passengers the chance to travel to a new destination from Wales.

"Almeria is the next Spanish hotspot and is currently experiencing rapid growth, fuelled by holiday home owners and by travellers wishing to discover the more authentic Spain unspoilt by mass tourism.”

Scottish airline Loganair has also recently announced the introduction of a new domestic flight service from Cardiff Airport to Aberdeen Airport.
