Vueling to become first cheap flight airline to offer flights from Spain to Canaries

From March 2008, Vueling Airlines will launch a four times a week from Seville to Gran Canaria - making it the first budget airline to offer a service from Spain's Andaulsia to the Canaries.

Only three months ago did Vueling setup base at Seville and its strategy is to focus on routes that have a high level of passenger demand and the Canaries fit that criteri

Iberia currently has the monopoly on the route and offers 3,500 seats per week in the peak season.

Vueling expect to fly over one million passengers from Seville in 2008, and over 60,000 on the Seville to Gran Canaria route.
