Monday 18 February 2008 9:38 AM
After announcing that over 2.9 million passengers used the London City airport in 2007, the airport has now received the title of "Best UK Airport" from Wanderlust magazine.

The airport has now won the award for three consequtive years and has beaten high quality competition from airports such as Bristol, Birmingham and Newcastle.

Charles Buchanan from London City Airport said that it means so much more to win awards that are as a result of people's opinions. "We are delighted to have won" he said.

London City has recently announced that airlines such as British Airways have expansion plans at the airport with new routes to Barcelona and Warsaw starting later this year. 2009 will also see the start of a new business-class only service from London City to New York.
