Friday 15 February 2008 11:55 AM
Launching over the summer period between May and September, Flybe will be flying a once-per-week service between Jersey in the Channel Islands and Nice in the South of France.Although there are several flights from mainland UK to Jersey, this new route is the first direct scheduled flight to the South of France from the Island. Ticket prices/fares start from £39.99 one-way including taxes and charges and are available to buy from the Flybe website with immediate affect. Flybe has introduced several new routes in the last 12 months including flights from Cardiff and Aberdeen - even as other airlines cut back on routes or frequency of flights. Mike Rutter from Flybe said [quote] "The new route to the French Riviera is great news for passengers and sees Flybe building on our commitment to the Island at a time when our competitors are withdrawing services. We see our new Nice service as a natural addition to our established route network out of Jersey and we are confident this will be a very popular destination."
