24 hour strikes affect flights to and from Greece

Sunday 17 February 2008 8:07 AM
A 24 hour strike by Greek workers on 13th February has led to many flights to and from Greece from being disrupted.

The strike was part of a protest over protecting Greek worker's pensions - and comes at the same time as French workers announced similar industrial action on February 15th.

Flights departing or arriving at Greek airports, including Athens and Thessaloniki were disrupted with many flights simply cancelled.

Flyingabroad would always advise passengers to check the status of their flight before leaving for the airport. If your flight has been cancelled then its common that you will either be offered a full refund, or can rebook onto another later flights.

Flights that flew over Greece were not affected by the industrial action.
