easyJets first flight starts today from Birmingham to Geneva

Earlier today, easyJet started its first even flight from Birmingham Airport to Geneva, Switzerland.The service operates daily with ticket prices as low as £22.99 one-way includes taxes. January and February are normally the two main skiiing months in Europe and easyJet's new service is expected to be popular with skiiers with Geneva being the gateway to some of the most popular ski resorts in Europe. Later this month on 22nd December, easyJet will commence a new Birmingham to Grenoble service which at this time of year is targeting people wanting to enjoy winter sports. With a large catchment, the UKs second biggest city has a large demand for low-cost flights to Europe and easyJet's expansion into Birmingham opens up many more destinations for people able to fly from Midlands airports. David Osbourne from easyJet said [Quote] "This is an exciting day for easyJet as we launch services from Birmingham International Airport for the very first time. This new route from Birmingham to Geneva is great news for the region's travellers who can take advantage of easyJet's famously low fares this winter from their local airport. We’ve been delighted by the response so far to the new Geneva route, which commences today, as well as the new Grenoble route, which launches on 22 December further proving the demand for great low-fares to major ski hubs across Europe"
