Wednesday 5 December 2007 8:00 AM
United States based Delta Air Lines has today started its daily service between Atlanta, US and Lagos, Nigeria service.

A spokesperson for the company said that as a major global leader in aviation, the airline is constantly looking to develop new markets and they see Africa as a significant up-coming market with an already growing demand.

Delta is the only US airline to offer the service to Nigeria. In June 2008, the airline plans to start a daily New York-JFK to Lagos service - with additional routes to Cape Town, Nairobi, Kenya and Cairo starting in June 2008 too.

The new route operates with a Boeing 767-300ER aircraft which provides comfort for over 210 passengers. There are 36 award winning business class seats with sleeper seats and 152cm of legroom, personalised entertainment and food prepared by some of the best chefs in the world.

Economy class passengers also have a high level of comfort with all-leather seats, high quality food and amenity kits - to keep passengers amused during long-haul flights.
