Speedy boarding with easyJet
Saturday 22 December 2007 10:01 AM
A year ago, easyJet announced "Speedy Boarding" which allows passengers to pay an additional amount to be among the first to be called to the flight. There is no allocated seating on easyJet flights so Speedy Boarding allows passengers to sit together or choose their favourite seats.easyJet have extended this service with Speeding Boarding Plus which extends the Speeding Boarding to have a dedicated check-in desk. Whereas Speedy Boarding was ideal for passengers without hold luggage, Speedy Boarding Plus is aimed at passengers who do have hold luggage and don't want to queue with the other 100+ people on the plane. The new service is bookable online as part of the normal booking process. The number of Speedy Boarding Plus spaces per flight is limited to 30 and is sold on a first come, first served basis. Depending on the departure airport prices for the service each way vary from £5.50 to £9. A spokesperson for easyJet said [quote] "Speedy Boarding Plus is the latest easyJet innovation to give our customers more choice and flexibility. This new facility builds on the success of Speedy Boarding by not only providing passengers with the opportunity to board a flight first and have a wider choice of seats but will also offer them a dedicated check-in area." The standard service will continue to operate at all airports and eventually, Speeding Boarding Plus will be available across the majority of easyJet airports in Europe. "
