Thursday 6 December 2007 6:19 AM
Young Silverjet is still seeing strong growth and high demand for its London to New York and London to Dubai services. The airline's Dubai service is the first commercial airline to use the private executive terminal at Dubai and at Luton Airport - giving passengers a unique, quick and safe transition whilst travelling. Since the new route's launch in mid-November 2008, yields and load factors on the route are already exceeding expectations. The airline has also secure two more boeing 767 aircraft from Thomsonfly for delivery in March 2008. The new aircraft have better engines allowing them to operate on most long haul routes from Luton Airport. The engines have over 6000 miles operational capacity which puts major cities such as Los Angeles, Delhi, Johannesburg and Shanghai within reach. The airline also had exceptionally high number of flights departing within 15 minutes of scheduled time with over 81% of flights reaching this target. A spokesperson for Silverjet said "“We are delighted to have completed the purchase of two further high quality long range aircraft on highly attractive terms relative to current aircraft prices, and to have announced another record set of traffic statistics. “Yields continue to strengthen which is further testament to the market endorsement of our product. We are seeing very high numbers of repeat customers and New York sales in November was the best month to date. " “We are seeing an increasing number of enquiries from corporate customers and registrations for our frequent traveller programme, the Silverjet Set, introduced last month have exceeded 500 companies.” Silverjet is a leading business class only service between London and New York and London to Dubai. Flights range from £1000 return including taxes - with tickets often 50% lower than other business class fares.
