Hand luggage rules relaxed at Heathrow Airport

Saturday 29 December 2007 12:30 PM
Starting from 7th January 2008, passengers flying to or from Heathrow Airport in London will be able to take an extra "personal item" of luggage onto their flight. The new "personal item" can include items such as a briefcase, handbag, laptop or baby changing bag.

The present restrictions across the whole of the UK is that passengers are only allowed to take one piece of hand luggage on board the plane per person.

Bulky items such as big laptop bags may be classed as an additional piece of hand luggage so may not be allowed on board.

The current restriction on the limit of liquids that can be taken on board remains in place until further notice.
