50 new routes announced by Ryanair

Europe's leading budget or cheap flight airline continues to grow steadily with new destinations being added regularly to its network.In an announcement today, Ryanair have announced 50 new routes - the largest number of new routes every announced at one time within Europe. The new destinations include three new airports in France and Romania and further expansion at 7 of its UK hubs including Birmingham, Manchester, Liverpool and Newquay. Over 60 million people are expected to fly with Ryanair in 2008 with Ryanair's guaranteed lowest fares in Europe. New routes include: - Birmingham to Barcelona, Marseille & Pisa - Durham Tees Valley to Alicante - Edinburgh to Alicante, Bremen, Frankfurt, Marseille & Pisa - Liverpool to Malaga & Nantes - London Stansted to Angouleme & Faro - Manchester – Barcelona, Bremen, Marseille & Milan - Newquay – Alicante & Barcelona Announcing this expansion, Ryanair’s CEO Michael O’Leary said [quote] “To celebrate the roll out of Ryanair’s largest ever European expansion we are releasing 2 million seats across our 605 European routes for just £10/ €10. This offer must end at midnight Thursday, so we advise passengers to go straight to www.ryanair.com because these bargains will be snapped up in record time”. The 50 new routes brings Ryanair's total number of routes to 605 - over 200 more than its rival, easyJet.
