Disney increases profile of Hawaii as a tourist destination

Tuesday 3 August 2010 9:38 PM
Disney has announced that they will be building a new beachside resort in Hawaii, due to be completed in 2011. With Disney's involvement, it is sure to increase tourist numbers to the tropical oasis of Hawaii.

Although it will not be a theme park, the new island resort, spread over 21 acres, will be called Aulani. It's a new move for Disney, as they have historically only operated theme parks, but although not themed, Disney has vast experience in branding and entertainment.  The new resort will only be an hour away from the international aiport in Honolulu. The attraction will offer 481 timeshares with an additional 359 hotel rooms. Guests will be kept busy with a convention centre, restaurants, spa and water play areas. There will also be an acclaimed golf course and the sand lagoons of the Leeward Coast close by.

Cheap flights from London Heathrow via Los Angeles to the resort will attract many tourists looking for their slice of fun in the sun. And with this being Disney, the kids should be kept well entertained, giving the adults plenty of rest and relaxation time.
