West end touches the sky with Virgin Atlantic

Wednesday 12 August 2009 8:09 PM

Virgin Atlantic has announced a new in-flight entertainment offering that it will be launching this month.

The new 'Curtain Up!' scheme will promote the best shows currently being performed in the West End, helping passengers decide what they want to see in the city.

Customers will also be given the opportunity to contact officials at the West End for more information and to book tickets.

“'Curtain Up!' is updated each month and runs for approximately 15 minutes, with three to four minutes devoted to each theatre show,” said Lysette Gauna, Virgin Atlantic's creative director.

"It is a self-contained entertainment programme, featuring filmed highlights, behind-the-scenes footage, interviews with cast members and production people, in addition to theatre experts explaining what the shows are about and offering their own views," she added.

Virgin Atlantic operates a network of international services from its London bases of Gatwick Airport and Heathrow Airport, these include flights to Dubai, Cape Town and New York.
