Bmis new lounge at Heathrow Airport officially opened

Bmi has opened a new international lounge at Heathrow Airport.

The airline said the new facility, which has been given the name bmi Number One Heathrow, has been developed "with customer comforts in mind".

A number of partnerships have been forged to support the lounge opening, including a collaboration between bmi and ice cream manufacturer Mark Hix, whose products will be on sale in the lounge and on certain menus on flights.

Other amenities on offer at the new lounge encompass, a study area providing free wireless internet access, a bar, a restaurant and a selection rest areas.

The facility is available gold and silver Diamond Club members, bmi business class passengers and Star Alliance gold customers.

Bmi claims to be "the number one airline out of London Heathrow's Terminal 1".

The carrier operates series of routes from the hub that includes flights to Abu Dhabi, Johannesburg and Philadelphia.
