Terminal 5 promoted by British Airways who say its much better

Friday 8 August 2008 8:02 AM

When British Airways moved its operations to the new Terminal 5 at Heathrow, it turned into a big embarassment for the airline as hundreds of flights were cancelled and an estimated 10,000 bags were lost.

Four months on, British Airways say that over 89% of flights to the new terminal are on time and the new terminal is operating well.

The big advertising campaign by BA will be seen on newspapers, online adverts and include real-life pictures of people at the terminal.  Over the coming few weeks, the adverts will also extend to include stats on delivered bags, check-in wait times and other figures to improve the perception of what initially dogged the new terminal.

British Airways Chief Executive, Willie Walsh said that he now receives letters of praise for the new terminal and has said that performance for the terminal had significantly improved and delays were now drastically reduced.
