Thursday 14 August 2008 8:43 AM

Although Ryanair has announced several cutbacks in flights this winter from various airports, including Stansted, they have also announced an expansion of flights from Weeze airport in Germany.

Its common knowledge that Ryanair and other budget airlines use smaller regional airports to keep costs down.  Weeze is no exception and is about 35 miles from Dusseldorf!

However, Ryanair has announced new routes from Weeze this winter.  October 27th sees the start of regular flights to Birmingham, Faro, Dublin, Oslo, Riga, Gothernburg, Tenerife, Manchester, Ancona and Santander.

In another recent statement, Ryanair announced new routes from the following airports to start and the end of October:

- Luton to Biarritz
- Stockholm to Krakow
- Stockholm to Lodz
- Stockholm to Wroclaw
- Stockholm to Prague

All of the above new flights can be booked via the Ryanair website.
