Bmi to launch new Heathrow to Kiev flights

British airline Bmi has announced that it will launch a new five flights weekly service from Heathrow Airport to Ukrainian capital Kiev.

The new route will begin operations on March 29 and will be introduced in conjunction with the expansion of bmi’s existing Tel Aviv service to two daily flights from Heathrow Airport.

The new Kiev flights will offer passengers from Aberdeen, Belfast, Dublin, Edinburgh, Glasgow and Manchester convenient connections as well as offering a direct link from London.

A spokesman from bmi described Kiev as one of the "lesser-known and explored" cities in Europe and said that the airline expects the new service to prove popular with leisure passengers.

Bmi also expects Business class travellers to take advantage of the new route and will be offered additional amenities such as the option of a chauffer-driven transfer service and leather seats with 50 inches of leg room.

In other news, bmi also recently announced the launch of a chauffer-driven transfer option for business class passengers on flights to Beirut, Cairo and Tel Aviv.
