XL Airways is part of the XL Leisure Group and is now in administration and is no-longer operating flights. The airline sucumbed to the high cost of fuel and falling demand and ceased operations on 12th September 2008.

XL Airways is separate from XL Airways France and XL Airways Germany which are not affected by the bankruptcy of XL Airways.
