Spanair is one of many Spanish airlines with it's flagship location based near Barcelona, Spain. Spanair broke away from Scandanavian Airlines in early 2009 and became an independent airline, with 20% still remaining with the previous holding company. Spanair has extensive flights to and from Spain and many locations in Europe - it also flies to West Africa. It's primary centre is El Prat Airport in Barcelona, with other secondary location at Barajas Airport in Madrid and Son Sant Joan Airport in Palma de Mallorca.
